~ AVERY BROOKES FARM ~
A trip to Avery Brookes Farm is an enlightening adventure! Mr. Michael Brookes has designed a TREE-MENDOUS ecological program to teach children to explore “Life in the Forest.” It’s a truly hands-on backyard experience as children identify the age, bark and leaf of the many varieties of trees that grow right here in Monmouth County. Joy can be found in a “Green Hour” of time spent with the simple sounds of nature. Our “outdoor classroom” is a fabulous feast in the forest; from discovering the sassafras tree and tasting freshly made root beer, to taking turns “Hugging a Tree” and identifying its bark. Children love Mother Nature and we love your children. This is the great equation for lots of smiles and fond memories!Late Night Campouts and visits to the Avery Brookes Farm will be highlighting the camp this summer. Both events give older campers special privileges and the opportunity to create those very special memories of a lifetime. The farm visits are very unique as our camp has a direct affiliation and access to their various nature centers. Our campers are provided with this extraordinary experience known by the National Wildlife Association as the “Green Hour” of time outdoors. Various activities are incorporated into seasonal visits to the forest. Past camper/students are absolutely amazed and delighted with these hands-on experiences
